BIG Boy School

We got to the first day of big boy school in such a rush that we didn't have a chance for pictures before class so here are some shots after their first day of preschool. I think it is obvious how much fun they had (and Mommy survived too).
(In their excitement to go to school the boys collided and P-man had a major bloody nose before we left for school. We thought it had stopped but started up once again while we were driving to school, not the smooth start we had hoped for, but oh so typical in our crazy house).

A little wink for Big D "Really Mommy I did just fine!"

P says "I had lots of fun too, but don't tell Daddy I put my name tag on the window"

Take me out to the ballgame...

C-Man had his first baseball tournament this weekend. The boys worked hard and played well together and ended up in second place in the tournament. This is amazing since today when they started playing it was 95 and when they finished their second game it was 105-way to hot to be playing (or watching) baseball, but in spite of the heat everyone had a great time!

The little boys kept busy playing trains!!

Now That's Entertainment

OK here's the scoop after 8 years and thousands of loads of laundry our washer went to the great washing machine heaven in the sky. Now a family of six can NOT be without a washing machine for long or else the piles of dirty laundry will leave me buried alive, never to be see again. So we very quickly went out and purchased a new one (picture this me, 4 kids in a laundromat for hours-not an experience I want to try!!) and so today our washer/dryer was delivered.

So now in an effort to save money (and pay for our new appliances) I have decided to cancel our cable television and let the boys be entertained by household chores, starting with the laundry! I am thinking next I will attach mops to the boys feet so as they are running through the house like wild animals (or maybe they are in training for the 2020 Olympics in track & field, possibly the 100m sprints!) at least my floors will be cleaned, just a thought!

P.S. Sunday the washer broke, today the iron caught on fire (really, I'm serious-sparks, flames and a hole burned in the ironing board!) AND Princess K is home from school for the second day with strep throat (it's only the second week of school)-guess when it rains it pours and I am praying it all happens in threes and we are home free for a while(or at least a few days)!!

First Day of School

Well, our summer was to much fun to last forever and on Monday our summer of rest & relaxation came to a SCREECHING halt! Along with school came the crazy after school activities...baseball & gymnastics here we go!
The kids are getting so grown up, where does the time go?

Only a few more weeks and the little guys will be at big boy school too.

They let me take this shot just before we walked on to school grounds only if I promised to put the camera away and quit embarrassing them. I thought it was my job as a parent to embarrass them so obviously I was doing my job well!

Evel Knievel in the making

Quite an outfit for catching crawdads

Cookin' up the catch of the day

What a difference a day makes...

This in K...
...K is not catching ANY fish (neither is anyone else) so she is mad, very mad.

"Why are you taking my picture, can't you see I am having a BAD fishing day!!"

"I CAUGHT ONE! But eewww I am not going to touch it!"

Persistance pays off, eventually!

Heaven

This is where we spent our vacation this summer, absolute heaven!

Bear Fight

We went camping and...P got into a fight with a bear. No ordinary bear, a big brown bear with claws and sometimes when he tells the story there were 2 bears. But, don't worry P won and the bear (or bears) "wost."

OK reality check...no we are not letting our children fight with random brown bears in the forest. Mom was exhausted and lazy and did not feel like picking up all the toys on the floor (for the 50th time that day) before the boys went to bed and Patrick fell out of bed and hit his face on some random toy and now...mom feels guilty for not picking up the toys (for the 51st time that day!), live and learn.
